Before you book

Know Before Booking

Some of these rule out a procedure completely, some just need a doctor’s note ahead of time, and some are the difference between a result that holds and one that does not. Read the part that applies to what you are booking.

Lash extensions, before you come in

  • Arrive on time with lashes clean and free of any debris.
  • More than 10 minutes late and you will be asked to reschedule, because it inconveniences the next client.
  • Avoid caffeine before the appointment. It can cause eye fluttering, which makes application difficult and can force a reschedule.
  • Aftercare instructions are provided; following them extends the life of the set.
  • Plan not to get lashes wet for the first 24 to 48 hours.
  • Fills are every 2 to 3 weeks. If more than 40% of lashes are missing, or the remaining lashes are countable, it is treated as a full set.
  • If most lashes are gone and you arrive for a fill: deposit forfeited, reschedule as a full set, new deposit required.
  • Lash fills are scheduled with the lash technician on the day, or by calling (407) 219-1135.

PMU brows, combo and ombre

  • More than 15 minutes late and the deposit is forfeited, reschedule required.
  • Pigment fades over time, which is why a 12 to 18 month touch-up is needed.
  • How soon depends on skin type, aftercare, and the look preferred.
  • If most pigment is gone it is a full session again. Consultation or a clear photo determines this.

YOU SHOULD NOT BOOK IF YOU ARE

Two of these need a doctor’s note rather than ruling you out, and several are a waiting period rather than a no. If you are not sure which one you are, call the studio before you pay a deposit.

  • Pregnant
  • Breastfeeding
  • Prone to keloids, or have birthmarks or moles on the area
  • Diabetic
  • Serious conditions such as cancer, epilepsy, autoimmune disorders (doctor’s note required)
  • Circulatory disorders (doctor’s note required)
  • Any bleeding disorders
  • Taking blood-thinning medication, or have heart conditions / a pacemaker
  • Currently on Accutane or other strong retinoids (must wait 6 months after treatment ends)
  • Any skin disease symptoms or irritation on the area
  • Have MRSA, or have or had shingles on the face
  • Recently had Botox or Dysport (must wait 2 months)
  • Old PMU
  • A broken capillary in the eyebrow area
  • Sunburned
  • Recently waxed (must wait 3 days)
  • Recently had a chemical peel (must wait 2 weeks); using Retin-A (must wait 1 month)
  • Allergic to topical numbing agents such as lidocaine, tetracaine, benzocaine

Must be avoided for the first 14 days after the procedure

  • Increased sweating
  • Sports
  • Swimming
  • Hot sauna, hot bath or jacuzzi
  • Sun or salon tanning
  • UV/UVA rays or chemicals (known to shift color and cause premature fading)
  • Laser or chemical treatments or peels, and any creams containing Retin-A or glycolic acid on face or neck
  • Picking, peeling or scratching the pigmented area (risks scarring or pigment loss)
  • Heavy household cleaning with airborne debris
  • Drinking alcohol in excess (slows wound healing)
  • Open-air vehicles such as convertibles, boats, bicycles or motorcycles
  • Touching the brow area except when rinsing and applying post-care cream with a cotton swab

Microneedling, do not book if you

  • Have used Accutane (isotretinoin) within the last year
  • Have acne, or open wounds, cuts or abrasions on the skin
  • Have had radiation treatment to the skin within the last year
  • Have any current skin infection or condition, or herpes simplex in the treatment area
  • Are pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Have any history of keloid or hypertrophic scars, or poor wound healing
  • Are allergic to numbing agents such as lidocaine, tetracaine, benzocaine

Possible reactions: temporary bruising, discomfort during injections, redness or swelling, lightening or darkening of the skin, itching and burning. Skin infection is possible any time an injection or surgical procedure is performed. Side effects are usually temporary and typically resolve within 3 days. Total healing depends on treatment depth, skin type and condition; some heal completely in 24 hours.

Lip blush, what to expect

  • Moderate swelling, redness and bruising for the first 5 days.
  • Apply a ziploc bag of water and ice, no more than 15 minutes at a time, to reduce swelling.
  • Minimal scabbing or flaking during initial healing. Do not pick, let it come off on its own.
  • Expect color to lighten by up to 40% once healing completes.
  • Color may appear uneven at different healing stages. Be patient; this does not yield immediate results.

Lip blush, do not book if any of these apply

  • Smoker (pigment may not retain, colors may distort)
  • History of MRSA
  • Psoriasis in the treatment area
  • Autoimmune disease
  • Thyroid or Graves disease (medication may prevent retention)
  • Anemia
  • History of keloid or hypertrophic scarring
  • Currently undergoing chemotherapy
  • Pregnant or nursing (no exceptions)
  • Diabetes type 1 or 2 (slow healing and infection risk; retention uncertain)
  • Prone to cold sores (special instructions)
even if none of the above apply, lip blushing cannot be guaranteed. This is a cosmetic tattooing procedure, the skin can be unpredictable, it is up to your skin to retain the pigment.

Her words

Lip blush aftercare

  • Do not touch lips except to clean or moisturize.
  • Use a cotton pad, clean towel or washed hands.
  • Avoid anything that irritates.
  • Avoid heavy sweating for at least two weeks (intense exercise, hot yoga, swimming, saunas). Micro-wounds leave you vulnerable to infection.
  • For 48 hours avoid spicy food, soups and hot drinks; use a straw.
  • Avoid acidic, oily or salty foods and alcohol while healing.
  • No teeth whitening while healing.
  • Keep toothpaste off the lips.
  • For 2 weeks avoid direct sun, chemical peels and laser.
  • Avoid lipstick and lipgloss, lip exfoliators, kissing, and skin friction.

Applies to every procedure

  • Doctor’s notes must be submitted at least 72 hours before the appointment, or the deposit is lost and the appointment must be rescheduled.
  • No caffeinated drinks on the day of treatment.
  • No aspirin, niacin, vitamin E or ibuprofen within 48 hours.
  • No omega-3 (fish oil) for 1 week before.
  • No tanning or intense sun exposure for at least 1 week before.
  • No alcohol within 48 hours.
  • No blood thinners for 1 week before.

NO PROCEDURES ARE GUARANTEED. RESULTS MAY VARY DEPENDING ON SKIN TYPE, HOW WELL AFTERCARE IS FOLLOWED, SUN EXPOSURE AND MANY OTHER FACTORS MAY PLAY A ROLE.

Deposits, the 48-hour reschedule window and the late policy are set out on the booking policies page. For anything here you are unsure about, call the studio on (407) 219-1135 before you book.
